The catamaran was specially designed and manufactured by the team of Anatoly Kulik (Novosibirsk) for the expedition. A similar model was successfully tested in a round-the-world sail.
By the time the Expedition 2018 starts, the following improvements will have been made: the mast reinforced, the tent fitted above the cockpit, cabin heating arranged and drying racks installed, new navigational aids and an echo sounder added, and a steering wheel installed instead of a tiller.
